Detroit-born and-based, Aaliyah has a great future. I do, however, have some advice for her. The music industry grave-yard is full of R&B/crossover career corpses who learned too late that it's impossible to go "Back & Forth" once they've burned the Black media and fan bridge that took them across in the first place. That said, Aaliyah must make sure that those she's entrusted with the management of her career give the Black press the full respect, cooperation and media access to her it deserves. Just a word to the wise from the C-Man to my gifted R&B/soul-singing sister. |
